BRIEF DESCRIPTION A very tall rainforest tree reaching a height of 55 m and a trunk diameter of 250 cm. The stem is prominently buttressed at the base with the buttresses somtimes reaching as tall as 4 m. The crown is usually spreading and open. Heartwood light yellow to yellow-brown with uniform texture. USES The wood is fairly easy to work and is used for plywood, joinery, furniture and turnery. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Yellow carabeen, Carabeen. FURTHER INF In Australia, the latitudinal range of the tree is 26-32°S and it occur at elevations between 30-1000 m.
