In India the flowers appear in February-April, and the new leaves appear in May-June. Fruits ripen in May-July, and the leaves fall in November-December. COMMON NAMES Wodier, Poma, Jail, Monia, Jhingan, Godda, Kalasan, Shimti, Moi, Jingni, Gumpini. FURTHER INF Scientific synonyms: L. grandis, L. wodier, Odina wodier, Haberlia grandis, Dalium coromandelicum. Wodier can grow up to 21 m tall. In India, it is adapted to a relative humidity in January from 40-90% and in July from 60-90%. In the Himalayan, it can be found at elevations up to 1200 m, and in dry Indian forests from 60-750 m. The tree is fire resistant. |
