BRIEF DESCRIPTION A variable grass with culms up to 15-90 cm high, often decumbent and rooting from the lower nodes. USES Used for pasture and makes a somewhat inferior hay. It is one of the first grasses to colonize bare ground, and has been used for reseeding denuded rangeland. GROWING PERIOD Summer-growing annual grass. COMMON NAMES Feather finger grass, Woolly-top Rhodes grass, Feather-top Rhodes grass, Black-seed, Feather-top chloris. FURTHER INF Feather finger grass can be found at elevations between sea level and 2000 m. It is often found along roadsides, in grasslands as a weed and is secondary in cultivation. It can become a weed in cultivated fields.
