DESCRIPTION: It is a vigorous bunchgrass. Plants are strongly caespitose. Leaves are fine, dense, and mostly basal, with sheaths remaining firm and entire. USE: Grown as turf in dry, shaded areas, low maintenance turf areas for erosion control or soil stabilization. Mowing height 5-6.5 cm. It tolerates higher moisture and fertility levels than sheep fescue. GROWING PERIOD Perennial grass. COMMON NAMES Hard fescue.
