BRIEF DESCRIPTION A medium sized to tall tree reaching 15-30 m in height, while the trunk may reach 70 cm in diameter. The trunk is usually straight and the crown is well-branched and moderately dense. On open sites the lower branches often persists and retain foliage to a low level. Heartwood light brown, moderately fine-textured, generally straight grained. USES The wood is used for general building constuction. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Thin-leaved stringybark. FURTHER INF Scientific synonym: E. wilkinsoniana. In Australia, the latitudinal range of the tree is 27-37°S and it occur at elevations between sea level to 1000 m. The tree can be found both on coastal lowlands and adjacent hilly cpontry and tablelands. (pH estimated by the compiler). | Sources |
