BRIEF DESCRIPTION A hardy, branched, tufted grass with 60-90 cm tall culms. USES Used for pasture but should not be grazed before well established and should not be grazed to closely. Also used for erosion control. In Africa, it is used as a remedy for colic, diarrhea, and typhoid fever. GROWING PERIOD Perennial or annual grass growing spring to autumn. COMMON NAMES Lehmann love grass. FURTHER INF Lehmann love grass is native of South Africa. In southern California it is found at elevations between sea level and 1700 m, but it is best grown at 1000-1500 m.
