BRIEF DESCRIPTION A tall grass growing in dense clumps reaching a height of 1.5-3.5 m. USES It is used for pasture and makes a good hay when young. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Giant wildrye. FURTHER INF In the United States, giant wildrye is most successful in dry areas below 1500 m in elevation.
