BRIEF DESCRIPTION A robust grass with rather stout stems from 1 to over 2 m high. USES Very palatable with good nutritive value. Used for pasture but will not withstand to heavy grazing. Can also be used for hay and silage. GROWING PERIOD Summer-growing annual grass. FURTHER INF In Australia channel millet latitudinal range is 17-29°S and it can be found at elevations from 100-200 m. It is normally found on seasonally flooded heavy clay soils, seeds will not germinate unless flooded and it will not tolerate drought. |
