BRIEF DESCRIPTION A medium sized tree usually reaching 25 m in height, while the trunk may reach 90 cm in diameter. The stems are pale coloured and cylindrical with short, small buttresses on larger trees. The crown is normally quit small. Heartwood pinkish-brown, fine textured and straight grained. USES The wood seasons well and it is easy to work and glu. It is used for plywood, veneers, joinery, furniture, lining, turnery, carving and rifle butts. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Coachwood, Scented satinwood. FURTHER INF In Australia, the latitudinal range of the tree is 28-35.5°S and it occur in the coastal rainforests at elevations between 100-900 m.
