BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A long-lived pioneer tree that can reach a height of 15-35 m, and a diameter of 1 m. It has a narrow conical crown and gray-green to dark green branchlets. GROWING PERIOD: Perennial, with a 5-8 years rotation for roundwood. COMMON NAMES: Jemara. FURTHER INF: Scientific synonym: C. montana. Jemara is native to highland regions of eastern Indonesia to East Java, Bali, and the Lesser Sunda Islands. It can be found at elevations between sea level and 3000 m, and the latitudinal range of natural occurrence is 5°N-2°S. It is drought hardy and fixes nitrogen. Annual wood production potential is 7-11 m3/ha. Mentioned as a possible agroforestry species.
