BRIEF DESCRIPTION: A smallish tree reaching a height of 5-20 m, while the trunk may reach a diameter of 50-100 cm. The main limbs is are usually more or less erect and the foliage is drooping. Sapwood is wide and creamy coloured, heartwood is reddish-brown, fissile and very dense. USES: The wood is used for turnery, fencing, poles and it makes a good fuel. GROWING PERIOD: Perennial. COMMON NAMES: Black oak, Belah. FURTHER INF: Scientific synonym: C. lepidophloia, C. glauca. This black oak is native of eastern Australia, it's latitudinal range is 22-34°S. | Sources |
