BRIEF DESCRIPTION A grass reaching a height of 10-70 cm. USES Used as a fodder grass or as a grain crop. GROWING PERIOD Annual or perennial. It mature in 3-5 months. COMMON NAMES Browntop millet. FURTHER INF Browntop millet can be found wild in the forests of Southeast Asia. It occurs at elevations between sea level and 2500 m. When grown as a grain crop, it performs best when planted in rocky, shallow soils, fertilized and kept free of weeds. Yields under rainfed conditions may be 2-4 t/ha with higher yields possible under irrigation.
