BRIEF DESCRIPTION A medium-sized, clump-forming herb reaching up to 2 m in height. It has a ribbed stem and the aerial parts have a strong odor. The leaves are about 6 cm long, oval and grey-green and the flowers are pale yellow. USES The leaves have medicinal properties. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES African wormwood, Als, Wild-als, Wild wormwood, Fivi, Lusanje, Luyanga, Umhlonyane, Lengana, Iliongana, Umhlonyane, Umhlonyane. FURTHER INF African wormwood can be found in the highland of eastern and southern Africa at elevations between 1500-3000 m. (pH estimated by the compiler).
