KILLING T
Seedlings are killed by frost, mature trees survive -1°C.

GROWING PERIOD
Perennial deciduous tree. In northern India the leaves commence falling about December, and the new leaves appear in March-April.

COMMON NAMES
Black siris, Karmaru, Kali siris, Bansa, Bilkumbi, Bilwara, Karu vagai, Thitmagyi.

FURTHER INF
Scientific synonym: Mimosa odoratissima. In the Himalayan mountains it can be found at elevations up to 1700 m. (pH estimated by the compiler).
