BRIEF DESCRIPTION A rhizomatous grass with an open panicle, slightly red in appearance, and with relatively broad leaves reaching a height of up to 60-120 cm. USES Grown for pasture. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Common bentgrass, Redtop. FURTHER INF: It is native to temperate and cold areas of the northern hemisphere (Europe). It has a large climate range and good resistance to cold and good drought-resistance. Optimum on excessively drained, relatively dry sods. Thrives on moderately rich to nutrient rich soils. Mainly on light, sandy soils. It is usually regarded as a weed.
