BRIEF DESCRIPTION A variable, multi-stemmed, bushy shrub or small tree reaching up to a height of 3-12 m. USES The immature pods can be fed to livestock. The wood can be used as fuel. The tree can be used for sand dune fixation, erosion control, low windbreaks and as an ornamental. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Pindal wattle, Sickle-leaf wattle. FURTHER INF Pindal wattle occurs in northeastern Australia within the latitudinal range 11-23°S at elevations between sea level and 500 m. It is mainly found on gently undulating country but can also grow in more rugged ranges. It can be found in valleys, on slopes and ridges, sand plains, and coastal sand dunes. It is nitrogen-fixing.
