BRIEF DESCRIPTION A multi and fine-stemmed shrub usually 2-4 m tall but can reach up to 6-7 m. USES The wood can be used as fuel. The shrub is used in revegetation of baux mining sites, as an ornamental, for erosion control, and as a low windbreak. GROWING PERIOD Fast-growing perennial. COMMON NAMES
Heathlands wattle, Sims wattle. FURTHER INF Heathlands wattle occurs in northern Australia and Papua New Guinea within the latitudinal range 3-21°S at elevations between sea level and 800 m. It is mainly found on the gentle slopes and plains of coastal areas and on tablelands, gently undulated country, and foot hills. It is nitrogen-fixing. It ability to produce seed rapidly and form tickets suggests that it would be a potential weed on some sites.
