BRIEF DESCRIPTION A large freely-branched shrub of 2-5 m, or a small slender tree reaching a height of 6-15 m. USES The wood can be used for poles and posts. It is browsed by sheep, it provides fuel, and the bark contain tanning. The tree is used as an ornamental and as a windbreak.
GROWING PERIOD Fast-growing perennial. COMMON NAMES Oleander wattle, Bastard yarran, Black wattle, Silver wattle. FURTHER INF Oleander wattle can be found in eastern Australia within the latitudinal range 23-32°S at elevations between 100-1100 m. It occur on gently undulating to hilly and sometimes mountainous country. It is nitrogen fixing and moderately drought hardy. |
