BRIEF DESCRIPTION An open shrub 2-5 m high or a small many branched tree reaching a height of 7-8 m. USES It is eaten by cattle, can be used as fuelwood and light fences, provide shelter and be used as an ornamental. GROWING PERIOD Moderately fast-growing perennial. Withstands a dry season of 7-9 months. COMMON NAMES Turpentine, Pindan minniritchie. FURTHER INF Turpentine occurs in northern and northwestern Australia within the latitudinal range 16-25°S at elevations between sea level and 700 m. It is found on hills, scarps, stony desert, plains, and coastal sand dunes. It is nitrogen fixing.
