BRIEF DESCRIPTION A shrub or small tree with a spreading habit reaching a height of 2-6 m. USES The wood can be used for fuel and posts and the seeds can be eaten. The tree can provide a low shelter on harsh sites in hot, arid areas. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. Withstands a dry season of 8-12 months. COMMON NAMES Irrara, Irrkuwartaka. FURTHER INF Irrara occurs in central Australia within the latitudinal range 21-26°S at elevations between 550-1150 m. It can be found on ridges, upper slopes and gullies.
