BRIEF DESCRIPTION A bushy shrub of 4-6 m or a small tree reaching a height of up to 10 m. USES It can be utilized for erosion control in fire-prone areas, for fodder, and fuel. GROWING PERIOD Fast-growing perennial. COMMON NAMES Red wattle, Yellow wattle. FURTHER INF Red wattle occurs along the eastern coastline of Queensland, Australia within the latitudinal range 11-27°S at elevations between sea level and 1000 m. It is mainly found on the gently undulating coastal plain, but extends to the slopes of the coastal ranges and tablelands. The tree is nitrogen-fixing. It has a potential to become a weed species in some situations.
