BRIEF DESCRIPTION Commonly a small tree reaching a height of 8-10 m, but on fertile and moist soils, protected from winds it can become up to 20 m tall with a diameter of 60 cm. USES The timber can be used as building material, posts, and poles. The wood can be used as fuel. The tree can be planted for shade and as an ornamentel. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. Withstands a dry season of up to 3 months. COMMON NAMES Rose wattle, Scaly bark, Rose spearwood, Rosewood wattle, Rosewood, Scrub ironbark. FURTHER INF Rose wattle occurs in eastern Queensland, Australia within the latitudinal range 19-29°S at elevations between sea level and 500 m. It is mainly found on undulating to hilly country. Large trees are found in valleys, along watercourses and on the lower slopes of hills.
