BRIEF DESCRIPTION A small tree reaching up to 10 m in height. USES Grown for its edible fruit arils. It is a good source of carbohydrates, vitamin C and calcium. Fruit seeds are boiled, roasted, and made into a beverage similar to cacao. The seeds contain an oil used in lamps. The hard timber is usful but rarely used and the roots have medicinal properties. GROWING PERIOD Perennial. COMMON NAMES Pulasan.
