Notes
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
A deciduous tree reaching a height of up to 30-40 m. The bole is straight and cylindrical with buttresses as high as 9 m and a diameter of up to 80 cm.

GROWING PERIOD
Perennial. Harvested on a 30-35 years rotation yields of about 200-300 m3/ha can be obtained.

COMMON NAMES
Kwako, Yellow terminalia.

FURTHER INF
Kwako is distributed in the region from Myanmar and Thailand over Indo-china and the Philippines to the Solomon Islands. It can be found at well-drained lower slopes at elevations between sea level and 500 m. The range of natural accurrence is 10°N-10°S. The tree is windfirm. Annual wood production potential is 25-30 m3/ha.
